Do all religions worship the same God?

Do Muslims and Christians worship the same god? College suspends professor who said yes.:

Wheaton College, a prominent evangelical school in Illinois, has placed a professor on administrative leave after she posted on Facebook that Muslims and Christians “worship the same God.”

The official school statement Tuesday about associate professor of political science Larycia Hawkins’s suspension said Wheaton professors should “engage in and speak about public issues in ways that faithfully represent the College’s evangelical Statement of Faith.”

Very interesting stuff.

I have actually had this same conversation with people as of late. In my personal life, I am surrounded by people of a very varied religious background–the church mice of the Catholic Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, new agers, born againers, and atheists.

If you were to put them all in the same exact room, it would soon be abundantly clear that they all consider themselves 100% right about what they believe.

Meaning the others in the room are wrong.

Perhaps that’s why it is best to avoid politics or religion at dinner tables–or maybe it is the reason WHY IT SHOULD BE TALKED ABOUT?

Religion can be a seriously divisive issue..

The very notion that some will accept the bible as historical documentation while others will not is often a barrier that will not be crashed.

You can’t move on in a conversation often because the basic tenets of religion are so often different..

Some may think they are very similar to others, until they find out some substantial portion religious belief the ‘other’ person has is something they cannot believe in.

  1. As a friend of my once said, “ As a conscious organism to become self aware within this physical universe gives no doubt to the existence of some higher intelligence or power, its the interpretations we fight over.”

    1. I would bet all religions established by men are wrong.. I deeply believe that God is science and math. And I really can’t explain why I say that but I believe it
