THE UNOFFICIAL START OF THE SUMMER FELT LIKE THE BEGINNING OF WINTER!

Accuweather has a LONG LONG range outlook.. They predict 80 degrees and bright sunshine during the next holiday, July 4th 2021.

And by then we will suddenly be seeing the twilight coming earlier, sunset arriving sooner..

Year after year it seems like winter holds on.. tightens the grip.. and then smirks devilishly as eventual extreme heat moves in, knowing his magic cold touch will be back in just 16 more weeks…….

A day in the life of Interstate 81

There is no intention to ‘blame the driver’ for what occurred today on I81, but there is something to be said about a “water cooler” conversation as of late.. have people become worse drivers since the pandemic shutdowns?

It seems like since the “reopening” after shutdowns, people forget their teenage lessons about red lights..stop signs.. speeding.. and yes, safety. Not just on highways, either.. but local roads. Rural roads.. parking lots!! Can people even park anymore!?

The Groundhog’s predictable prediction

We had one snow storm a few weeks ago that dropped a whopping 3 inches… A storm of so little importance in the scheme of things, but this winter was the most memorable!

The surprise snow squalls in late December were much more dangerous and intense than any ‘storm’ we had since..

This weekend is no different. There were hopeful rumors that a Groundhog Day snow even would blanket Punxsutawney and blend well with the celebrations that the town endures yearly ..

On the Eve of our first potential winter event of 2019/20, a tale of winters past.. present, and future

Some of our ancestors who remain present on the planet earth will attest to much worse winters of the past, however.. They will say they had to ‘jump to spat’ at times when they were kids, that the snow was up to the necks and they were still forced to trudge through it to school houses on a secluded country road!

Maybe much of this is hyperbole, but we can look to past headlines to gauge the patterns that once were.. and maybe learn from then to capture a glimpse of life in the patterns of the future..
