Ryan Wrecker did not wreck Coast to Coast at all

Is Coast to Coast AM Entering a New Era with Ryan Wrecker?

For those who’ve been tuning into Coast to Coast AM recently, you may have noticed the increasingly weathered voice of longtime host George Noory. After stepping into the spotlight following the departure of the iconic Art Bell, Noory—nicknamed “The Nighthawk”—has remained a constant figure on the late-night airwaves for years. His dedication has never been in question, but even the most loyal listeners have likely noticed that his delivery has become slower, and his voice a little shakier with age. As with all things, nothing lasts forever.

Enter Ryan Wrecker.

A new energetic voice and new bumper music too.

Wrecker, born and raised in Michigan, has made the rounds in radio much like a modern-day Dr. Johnny Fever, with stints in Lima, Fort Wayne, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Detroit. And now, as of this past weekend, he’s officially stepped into the host’s chair on Coast to Coast AM, debuting as a new weekend voice of the show.

If you caught Friday or Saturday night’s broadcast, you might agree—it was impressive. Wrecker’s delivery was sharp and professional, yet you could hear the awe in his voice when the legendary Chase theme began to play. He admitted it himself: he was prepared for a lot, but not quite ready for the wave of emotion that hit him once the intro music rolled. It was a moment that longtime fans could relate to.

Wrecker shared that he received hundreds of emails after the show—some filled with praise, others offering quirky critiques. One listener jokingly scolded him for forgetting a classic Art Bell tradition: asking truckers to honk their horns. Still, Wrecker paid clear homage to Art Bell, noting that he was a huge fan of the original broadcasts, loved the famous time traveler hotline, and still listens to past shows as a Coast Insider.

He recently even won a Murrow award.

Of course, no Coast to Coast host debut would be complete without the obligatory plug for ParanormalDate.com. If that’s the worst they make him do, it’s a fair trade.

What the future holds for Coast to Coast AM is unclear—but what is clear is that George Noory’s time may be winding down. His recent broadcasts suggest more than just a touch of age—they sound labored, and it’s becoming more difficult to ignore. With the show airing on over 600 stations, the need for new energy is critical.

Ryan Wrecker may be just what the program needs to stay relevant and entertaining. For now, he’s slated to appear 2–4 times a month on the weekend host rotation. After his debut, that feels like a good move. His show was fresh, engaging, and—dare I say—fun. He brought back some of the magic the program had been missing.

Here’s hoping that weekend rotation turns into something more permanent. Wrecker delivered, and for the first time in a while, Coast to Coast AM felt exciting again.

So, cheers to Ryan Wrecker. You did a fine job.

And hey—we get it. You have to do ParanormalDate.com. Just… please don’t start hawking gold.
