Wide-eyed over new Facebook privacy policy.. be forewarned when you tag

The good old days of privacy.. Ahh, yes. Gone for good.. and ushering it out is the new world of constant surveillance, photos being posted everywhere of you, and your every move being tracked and posted online. And oh, by the way, you are doing it … No need for Big Brother to take something away when you freely give it yourself.

But now new concerns over facial recognition policy on Facebook are becoming real. Facebook is allowing users to identify their friends automatically in photos without their permission. It’s called ‘tag suggestions’ and until now it has just been unavailable. Have fun, kids, yet another tool to rid yourself of privacy.

Once people would have asked, how far is too far? Now the question is gone and replacing it is the race to tag and track it all, chip the arm, log the leg, track the call, and save the searches.

People often say, “If I don’t do anything wrong I have nothing to fear.” Wrong. History tells us that.

Facebook is fun, I have an account, and it’s easy to connect with friends. And it has perfected the 21st century abandonment of those things we once held true to: Privacy. Tag me baby, it’s the new world order.
