GRANDE ATTACKED. AND THEN AN ATTACK.

I was perusing some articles this morning from the press across the Pond. The UK GUARDIAN review of Ariana Grande’s UK tour was on my mind.. it was harsh. Two stars out of five (http://ift.tt/2pY1b96) ..  Kitty Empire (really?) wrote this:

//“Over the course of three hit albums, Grande’s four-octave soprano has been confirmed as a force of nature, on a par with – but not actually similar to – Mariah Carey’s. (Carey has been very shruggy about the arriviste.) As Grande sings – alone, or waited upon by dancers – she is transported: chin lifted heavenwards, signature ponytail draped over a shoulder, ululating in rapture. Thank goodness there are costume changes for respite – four, in which she wears black, grey, white and black again – or Grande’s ponytail might unmoor itself like a champagne cork.”//

And then after the press attack, a real attack occurred.

Tonight as I write this post, it appears a suicide bomber killed at least 19 and injured at least 50 at the concert as it ended.. Theresa May called it appalling.

The world agrees.

Greater Manchester Police said the incident was being treated as terrorism. A senior White House official told NBC News that President Donald Trump, who is on a visit to Jerusalem, had been briefed.

Police said the explosion took place outside the arena, which is near the Manchester Victoria transit station, as the concert ended at about 10:35 p.m. local time (5:35 p.m. ET), catching people as they exited.

There were reportedly 21,000 people within.. At least 20 at press time didn’t leave alive.

This is one of the weird moments for someone famous. The time when innocence and pop culture suddenly becomes a curse.. Ariana Grande wasn’t the typical location for a terror attack, with the exception that she appeared before 20,000 + people. Regardless, now her name will forever be known for this. The press reports on how horrible her show was seemingly are meaningless at this point. What matters are the lives lost.. the fear born. And a star torn down by fate beyond her control.
