One of the biggest YouTube videos right now floating around online is a photo of a dead mall coupled with the song TOTO AFRICA playing in the background. It would appear that the image is a still picture, it still promotes the feeling and nostalgia that a dead mall can supply.
Watching this video reminded me of the time prior to the official closing and wrecking down of the Schuylkill Mall when I took a long sad walk around the empty vessel. The song DAYDREAM BELIEVER came on and I could not help but record it for posterity..
The TOTO song is of a still image.
Mine was live action.. it was real. It was filled with feeling and yet melancholy sadness..
The mall is currently being knocked down in Frackville. And yes.. it still feels like it should be there.
