Father’s Day 2018

Happy Father’s day out there to anyone else who has one of the most important jobs any man can do: be a dad. Not just be a dad… but be a dad. A real dad. A father that will be in your child or children’s memory far beyond the time you inhabit your mortal body..

This year my son, age 7, is growing rapidly before my eyes.. The transition of time is almost too fast to contemplate.. to fast to understand..

This week I also was made aware of a death of someone who was truly an monumental person in my community. He left behind children and grandchildren, and died way too early of a brain tumor. His funeral was on Father’s Day weekend.

Because death has no rules..
And life has no ambitions.
As we are just traveling through this fine existence, moment by moment, with a smile of bravery on our faces and fingers crossed behind our backs. Muscles clenched… into the future.

Happy Father’s Day fellow dads. Don’t be a dad just one day. Be a real role model and super hero for life.

FathersDay
This was one of the finer moments I have ever had with my son Ayden. A cold November night in 2013, wind sweeping by the Cracker Barrel late at night as we finished dinner and played an intense game of checkers outside… This memory lives with me always.
