The new flu fear of the decade

For weeks we have heard rumors about a potential new global pandemic originating from China.. today that rumor became more possible..

The United States has its first confirmed case of a new virus that appeared in Wuhan, China, last month, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday. The coronavirus has already sickened hundreds and killed six people in Asia ..

CDC officials said the United States will be more strict about health screenings of airplane passengers arriving from Wuhan.

The patient is not being named .. The patient became ill four days after arriving in the United States and sought care.

Reports indicate that based on the patient’s symptoms and travel history, doctors suspected the novel Wuhan coronavirus and sent specimens to the CDC in Atlanta, where tests Monday confirmed the virus.

This new virus is being called SARS like..

And if you remember that global hysteria, you will recall how much of the world was brought to a halt in the year 2003 .. The virus was discovered in 2002.. it spread around quickly..and there has been no recent known transmission from human to human since 2004..

The only thing that spreads faster than viruses are fears over them.

This new disease has unfortunate potential to be SARS II.. hopefully not worse..
