June 19th was used as the date to announce some exciting news (fans of the series Don’t Hug me I’m Scared will appreciate the significance) ..
It’s going to be a show in the UK!
The production has been a long time coming–rumors have swirled for years of when and where it could drop, and even if it would.
News today has ignited the fandom.
So what is this strange show we speak?
For those not aware, the opening scene of Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared starts with a calendar prominently displayed over the three main characters. It says June 19th. Throughout episodes one through five, the observer can spot the some variation of 6/19 appears dozens of times… once even on a “still missing” poster which shows all 3 of the main characters.
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is one of the most influential YouTube series out there, with each video garnering millions of views and inspiring plenty of other videos that start off sweet and end up, well, much less sweet.
Following the massive success of the Kickstarted YouTube series, it was announced that a TV series was in the works, with some footage shown off alongside the announcement.
It’s dark. It’s creepy. It’s weird. And it probably isn’t for most children. But there sure is something weirdly addictive about it.
Across the pond, get scared. It’s coming in September and hopefully the world will have a way of seeing it soon after.
