250 and 1 day: The Strangest Shows on Earth

As the nation collectively deals with its July 4 250th hangover the day after, it is worth noting a few moments of oddities that created strange turmoil just as fireworks shows were set top begin..

In Cumberland County, tragedy struck as a storm rolled through and killed two people in a camp.. The Cumberland County Coroner has identified the victims as 45-year-old Pamela Landis and her son, 11-year-old Andre Landis, both of St. Thomas.

In the state capitol, a fireworks show was set to redeem Harrisburg after the dramatic shooting incident two years ago.. but the fireworks this year was not meant to be.. Mayor Wanda Williams had to cancel after storms rolled through and created chaos and downed trees at an outdoor festival..

Many other displays across cities and towns in affected areas had to run for cover and cancel or delays their shows..

Philadelphia also had a share of insanity is the fireworks didn’t start until almost 2:30 in the morning…

The show went on in the big apple.. and they thankfully avoided major issue… except… the Brooklyn Bridge caught on fire during the fireworks show! Video footage showed several fires burning on the bridge soon after the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show began in New York City, just after 9 p.m. The Police Department said no injuries were reported. The fires were extinguished before major damages..

Then there was DC.. President Trump was adamant that despite storms and an evacuation order of the area, he was going to make a speech and have fireworks. They did, it was closer to the 5th of July but it happened.. It was a mighty fireworks show with the most spectacle that people have ever seen.. with distant lightning striking the Washington Monument during the show.. That made for a dramatic photo..
