November dries the pumpkins: Some Thursday headlines worth knowing before they stop mattering

Some news headlines worth mentioning this morning.. the water cooler may be chatty. By noon none of it ever matters.

The Houston Astros did it.. they Won the World Series last night. Not on the home turf. The city of LA was left reeling with sadness after their home team decisively LOST.

There was marriage proposal live on Fox during the series, though. Good to see love is still in the air.

Love is not in the air in much of the rest of the world.

The news from New York is filled with fear: The terror attack that killed 8 is still reverberating. The suspect, an Uzbekistan native, was an uber driver who made dry runs before the attack. Governor Cuomo labeled him a lone wolf and ISIS put out propaganda mocking that assertion. Trump? He vowed a CRACKDOWN.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg has has done it again: He is able to make national headlines with his actions. This time he has an album cover of himself posting over top of the corpse of Donald Trump! Fire and fury of debate will ensue.

Michelle Obama is warning the youth of America not to tweet unless they have something positive to say. And they should spell things right.

I could not agree more.. Mrs. Obama said that not every thought needs to be broadcast to the world.

The newest generation is seeing a President, however, who does just that. Tough to get a handle on what way the future of the nation will head.

Hollywood continues its descent into darkness. More allegations have now surfaced against the once big star KEVIN SPACEY.. allegations amid the possibility of more big actors, journalists, politicians, and directors will be taken down by the current airing of truth that this year has brought. Child star Corey Feldman still says he has names and will reveal names. For decades, Feldman has made the contention that fellow 80s kid star Corey Haim committed suicide because he was molested by Hollywood elites. Feldman is drumming up money to create a documentary about what children in the entertainment industry go through.. He also said he is being targeted by industry evils behind the scenes. The Hollywood sign never looked worse.

Just this week, Bryan Singer was accused again. As was DUSTIN HOFFMAN.

Now I will not think of HOFFMAN much anymore as the rain man.. but more than character played in Mr. Holland’s OPUS………..

Clocks are about to be set back. Time will cease to exist and we will be thrust back into the perils and infinite darkness that the autumn brings. And it is where we will be, set in the terrors of the night until the light of the day returns. Until the sun rises. Until the solstice near Christmas brings back the ancient pagan rituals that we have embraced with our modern rituals of trees and presents.

But before we get there, one more piece of fear we need to contend with: A potential plague! THE PLAGUE currently killing and infecting hundreds of people in Madagascar and East Africa is even more deadly than the Black Death which left 200 MILLION dead across the world. There are fears and WHO warnings that perhaps over the next six months the fine people of the planet earth may have yet to deal with a worldwide problem. A pandemic. A strain of fear and pestilence across the land.

Oh the time we live in. The good and the bad all at once. The best of times and the worst of times. But..This is the best time of year. The scariest time of year. The darkest time of year.

Lights always exist at the end of tunnels. But where the tunnel ends? The endless quest to the daylight is the price we pay to escape the night.

Happy Thursday, party people.
