The way it was: 1908

A photograph from 1908 shows a trolley car of the Schuylkill and Dauphin Traction Company on the bridge over the Williams Valley Railroad between Williamstown and Tower City.

The caption reads: “Type B Car of 60-hp Mounting a 10 percent grade on Schuylkill and Dauphin Railway”

The 32 foot, gasoline powered trolley car was built by the Railway Motor Car Corporation of Philadelphia. This “Type B” car operated on the trolley line between Lykens and Tower City.
