‘Twas the Impeachment before Christmas

‘Twas the week before Christmas,
And all through the House,
We cannot escape,
Not even a mouse.

The articles were voted on late in the night,
With visions of convictions dancing in heads.
And Nadler in his high pants, and Maxine with her yell,
Had all settled in for political hell.

When out on Fox News there arose such a clatter,
Anderson Cooper sprang from his time slot to see what was the matter.
Away to the guide we flew with a flash,
Turned the station over to Tucker we dashed,

The crowd on the breast of the new fallen snow
gave the lustre of MAGA hats to the objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
Was Donald Trump risking political career.

With a speech and a holler, so lively and quick,
We knew in a moment that the year has been sick.
More rapid the insults, the curses they came,
And he Tweeted and shouted Democrats by name.

Now Pelosi! Now Waters!
Now Schiff and Nadler!
On Schumer and Bernie!
On Warren and even Wolf Blitzer!
To the top of the news cycle!
To the top of the wall!
Did Donald Trump build it?
Is it 40 feet tall?

As dry leaves that before the impeachment votes fly,
when they meet with an obstacle, voters may cry.
so up on the House-top the comments they flew,
with the articles doubled Trump was the shrew.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the sleigh,
The prancing and shrieking of Kellyanne Conway.
As I tuned in and read and turned around,
down the chimney Trump came with Guilani and Cohn.

He was dressed in all orange, his hair was how scary!
His cheeks were like peaches, his nose was tanned cherry!
His tiny little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the scowl on his face was as angry for the show.
The resentment of impeachment he held in his teeth,
and Pence and Bill Barr somehow bequeathed.
He had a combover and a little round belly,
that shook when he Tweeted, with hands that were sweaty.

He was bitter and slump, a mean angry old elf,
and Dems laughed when they saw him, ignoring themselves.
A wink of his eye and a twist of some fate,
soon gave me to know that he just might soon skate.

He spoke endless words, and went straight to his work,
and filled up his feeds, and called Democrats big jerks.
And laying his tiny finger aside of his nose,
And giving a finger to those he calls foes.

He sprang to the White House, to  his team gave a whistle,
And away they flew all asking for a dismissal.
But I heard him explain, ‘ere flew out of sight,

Impeachment for all, and 2020 will be a fright!
