Merry Christmas from the Starcourt Mall!

A video posted on the popular Dead Mall Enthusiasts page is a good book-end to a year the most popular show ever to appear on Netflix was released: Stranger Things 3..

The Starcourt Mall was the focal point of the summer series released on the Fourth of July. In that episode, the monstrous upside down appeared again in Hawkins and the battle of Starcourt ended the show..

The actual mall is, like so many others this Christmas 2019 season, a true dead mall.

The location: The outskirts of Atlanta.. it’s called the Gwinnett Place Mall. It was really built in 1984 ..

The show had amazing homages to the 80s .. the real life situation is dire .. stores and anchors have closed over the years.. The Mall Boasts stores still available for shopping needs on their official website.

For the show, set designers had to rebuild an entire section of the real mall from scratch.

The feel of the mall was perfect for STRANGER THING 3 — but the 21st reality of locations like this does not look anything as it did in the 20th.. the excitement of the hallowed halls of the shopping malls has turned dead and vacant like the upside down..

So enjoy this Erika NekoArc display of the Starcourt Mall at Christmas.. otherwise known as the dying Gwinnett Mall in Georgia..

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE VACANT HALLS IN AMERICA.
