Michael Myers scares you, how would you feel about nearly 300 of them all in one place… just standing there… staring back?
Yeah… some may recoil in horror and dread.. other dressed up.
The whole thing was a bit of fun and also product placement. It attempts to create hype builds for a brand new Halloween-related video game. In a move that feels equal parts marketing stunt and horror fan fever dream, the team behind the game decided to go big… Guinness World Record big.
The gathering took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:30 PM ET at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston. The goal? Get at least 250 people dressed as Michael Myers in one location.
A total of 254 fans showed up in full Michael Myers cosplay, officially setting the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Michael Myers.
The record was awarded to IllFonic, Gun Interactive, and Compass Entertainment, who documented across social media.
As for the game itself, it’s expected later this year and early buzz is calling it intense, gory, and very much in the spirit of asymmetrical horror gameplay. If you ever played the Friday the 13th: The Game, this looks like it’s cut from the same cloth.
Get the pun there?
Friday the 13th gone from game servers, there’s been a bit of a void in that space. This might be the one to step in and fill it.
Will it break records? Maybe not. And maybe eventually it would go to the same way as the Friday the 13th game and just vanish from servers..
But if nothing else… you can always throw on the mask, boot it up, and become one of the many.
And thankfully… from the safety of your own home..
