Storm Area 51 events forcing local officials to consider crowd planning

It started as an idea last year.. Then a petition.. And now the notion that people could “storm Area 51” has swelled into such a modern fad that local officials Nevada are considering crowd control plans for September 20 through 22 2019..

The elected board governing the county with about 5,200 residents conditionally approved two events Monday for tiny desert towns near the once top-secret U.S. Air Force test area known in popular lore as a site for government studies of outer space aliens.

“Oh, we’re taking this seriously,” Lincoln County Commission Chairman Varlin Higbee told the Las Vegas Review-Journal . “With the possibility of 35,000 to 40,000 people showing up, yeah, this is serious.”

More from the AP:

County officials are concerned that a surge of visitors will crowd campsites, gas stations and public medical, internet and cellphone services. Officials count just 184 hotel rooms in the county nearly twice the size of the Connecticut.

“The cellphone system is going to go down,” Higbee said. “You get more than a couple of hundred people there, and it’s going to crash. Cell service won’t be available.”

The Little A’Le’Inn in the community of Rachel, population about 50, is scheduling a three-day music festival Sept. 20-22 dubbed Alienstock. Hotel co-owner Connie West has said she’s expecting 10,000 people.

The conditional permits require festival and event organizers to submit final plans to the Lincoln County Commission by Sept. 3….

Everyone involved are warning people: Don’t try to enter Area 51.. The hope with this ‘storm’ event is that it will become more of a festival of alien and UFO lovers as opposed to a criminal trespassing event that could and would lead to immediate loss of life .. (read the signs) ..

Heather Wades back into midnight

While many are pointing to the storm event as a organic idea, it may have come from the popularity of the late great Art Bell.. back before he died on Friday the 13, 2018, his hand-picked replacement Heather Wade began floating the idea of getting a big group of people together and storming into Area 51 with the note on her radio show, ‘they can’t stop us all.’  At the time, shortly before his death, Art Bell said publicly it was a bad idea.. The notion of the storming event ended with his departure from earth and Wade quitting radio for a time..

But now the idea is alive and fully steaming ahead..

No hotel rooms available…

Contingency plans being prepared for any strange activity.

The military has already warned people it will defend Area 51 from human beings if need be.
