The tragic odyssey: The Missing Titanic submarine

The world is watching–and as this post is written the missing Titanic submarine has mere hours of oxygen left for the explorers on board the tragic vessel lost at sea..

The sub went missing while taking five people to the wreckage of the Titanic .. those searching for said they continued to hear noises Wednesday and were “actively searching” the area.

A Canadian search plane detected noises underwater in the search area Tuesday and crews were focused on finding the origin of the sounds.

The submarine vanished on Sunday and was expected to resurface later that day, but did not. Now, three days into the search, there is believed to be less than 24 hours of breathable air on board.

All of social media seemingly has focused in on this tragic story developing before our eyes in real time. There is gallows humor being posted along with seemingly disrespectful posts making light of wealthy explorers dying a painful death.. The vast majority of TikTok has been either detailing the harrowing ordeal the five people on board are facing, or making light of the entire situation with Beetlejuice memes.

It seems some people have taken up a certain persona of being gleeful about the deaths of wealthy people on board this ship. It is wrong to laugh, it feels morbid to celebrate as some seem to. But it sure is not stopping some humans from that reaction.

There are a series of videos posted of past advertisements for the The Titan submersible, operated by OceanGate Expeditions, especially an old video showcasing that it was being operated by what appears to be nothing else than a video game controller!

Just considering what those on board .. just the thought of the lack of air, the darkness of the sea.. staring potentially at old wreckage of the Titanic itself.. It all feels cursed. It all feels very wrong.

Another creepy aspect: The Titan was seen going down into the ocean–for the last time.

Abbi Jackson, age 22, was working as a videographer on the mothership Polar Prince on Sunday morning. Waiting from the safety of the ship was a young videographer (@abbijaxxxon) who was charged with documenting the state-of-the-art exploratory technology. While filming, the young Canadian whipped out her phone and panned over to capture the moment the Titan prepared to descend .. She flashed a smile while showing off the 22-foot OceanGate sub in the background that has traveled to its demise..

By the time this is posted, or when you read, we may know the fate of those on board. Maybe a miracle will occur–something profound needs to happen in order for that to occur.

Sadly the final result seems to be in the cards.. The vessel at sea.. exploring a disaster in the past. And we are all watching a new sad curse develop at the site of the Titanic.
